Tattoo simulator: try on your tattoo before you go under the needle

Upload a photo of the spot you want tattooed, place your design – free, no sign-up. And once it feels right: the AI try-on renders the design photorealistically onto your skin, following body contours, light, and shadow.

How the tattoo try-on works

A tattoo is forever – the decision about design, size, and placement should be too. With the Inkspira tattoo simulator, you can see in advance how your design will look on your arm, forearm, shoulder, back, or leg. The free preview places your design as a layer over your photo; the AI try-on goes a step further and renders it realistically into your skin – including body contours, lighting, and the way real ink colors settle in.

Frequently asked questions

Is the tattoo simulator free?

Yes. The preview (placing, scaling, and rotating your design on your photo) is completely free, no sign-up needed. The photorealistic AI try-on – which adapts the design to your body shape, the light, and your skin – costs 1 Credit.

Is my photo stored?

No. Your photo is encrypted in transit, used only for the rendering, and never stored. Only the finished result image is saved to your account.

Which designs can I try on?

Your own designs created with the AI generator, or any design you upload (JPG/PNG/WebP, max. 5 MB).

How realistic is the AI try-on?

The AI wraps the design along your body contours, adjusts light and shadow, and makes the colors look like real ink under your skin – far more realistic than the simple preview.

Why does the design stop at the edge of my skin?

As soon as you upload your photo, the simulator automatically detects where your skin is and hides anything that sticks out past it – so the design never spills onto clothing or the background. You don’t have to turn anything on. The detection runs entirely in your browser; your photo is never uploaded for it. Use "Show full design" to compare with the uncropped design, and "Fix mask" to touch up the edge by hand.
