About Inkspira
Inkspira is built by two people: me, Finn, and a friend who codes.
It started with a problem I kept running into. For years I turned up to appointments with a folder full of blurry screenshots and still struggled to explain what I actually had in mind. Eventually, after I had complained about it to my friend for long enough, we decided to start building something ourselves.
He handles the technical side. I focus on getting the style names right and making sure a design looks like something you could realistically take to a tattoo artist. Inkspira was made for German-speaking users first – the content is written directly in German, not translated – and this English version runs alongside it.
It doesn't replace an artist – it replaces the fifteen blurry screenshots that would otherwise come along to the first consultation. You make a vague idea a bit more concrete before your appointment; the development of the design and the professional judgment stay with your tattoo artist.
